The following note, Abolfazl Abedini Nasr’s biography, was published on December 13/2007 by Sarbaze Vatan, and was later translated to English on April 15/2010 by Roxanne K.

Abolfazl Abedini Nasr’s Biography
The following is the biography of Mr. Abolfazl Abedini Nasr. Recently he has been reported by the government media as a bomber. Therefore the following letter is written by his family for enlightenment of the public’s opinion and intimation of Human Rights organizations.

From the beginning during the high school years, he started his cultural activities by attending seminars in adoration of Ferdowsi and the history of antiquity of Iran.
He was summoned by Sepah Security Forces numerous times due to attending national and patriotic demonstrations and publishing Aab (Water), Atash (Fire), Khak (Earth) publication during his serving military service.
He founded Ariobarzan Network Development company and designed historical, cultural and social blog in 1384.
He started his work at Asre Karoon Ahvaz newspaper. The Army intelligent staff arrested him and all his asset was sealed. Mean time his family residence was raided and the family albums,books and publications that were published by him was confiscated on 5/10/84.
After 5 months, he was freed from confined in solitary confinement and metal and physical torture, by placing fifty million Tooman with out a court hearing. Eighteen months later, his case was refereed to third branch of Ahvaz Revolutionary court (case number 962). During this period any institution or organization that Abolfazl was affiliated with him was alarmed and intimidated .
He proceed working as a reporter at Bahar Khuzestan weekly publication in 1385.
While he was seeking treatment for his medical condition he was arrested for 20 days on 24/2/86 and was released after 20 days.
He was arrested by intelligent forces in his office at Bahar Khuzestan weekly publication at 10:00AM on 22/8/1386 . He is still under interrogation by special section of Intelligent Ministry prison ,section 6, Karoon Prison.
He is accused of interviewing with Radio Farda and some other foreign media and covering the Haft tapeh Sugarcane factory labor strike.
The charges regarding the case number 962 is as follow
1)Threatening National security,
2)Insulting Britain Ambassador,
3) Apprehending public mind,
4)False publication,
5)Instituting national and patriotic union

He was brutally arrested at 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 3, by Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps Intelligence agents (IRGC’s), violently attacked his residence in the southern province of Khuzestan.

Abolfazl Abenini’s sentence

RAHANA – Independent journalist Abolfazl Abedini has been sentenced to eleven years in prison by branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court in Ahvaz. Abedini is charged with association with foreign governments (five years in prison), membership in Human Right Activists in Iran (HRAI) (five years in prison), and propaganda against the regime for interviews with foreign media (one year in prison).

Transferring Abolfazl Abedini to Evin Prison’s clinic

HRANA New agency: Abolfazl Abedini, human rights activist and former member of Human Rights Organization in Iran that has been just sentenced to eleven years of confinement was transferred to Evin Prison’s clinic.
According to HRANA report, Abolfazl, the Human Rights activist upon his arrival to section 2 of Evin prison was brutally beaten by the security forces. After a few hours of resisting against the physical torture, due to his severe Mitral Valve Prolapse condition ,arduous beating, and not being able to withstand the suffering, he was moved to the prison’s clinic.
