HRA News Agency- Last night, September 17,2010, Abolfazl Abedini Nasr, journalist and human rights activist was brutally beaten, in Karoon Ahwaz prison.
According to HRANA, an individual named “Ghalandari” , one of the prison staff ,attacked and harassed him physically.
Without any prior reason,while Abolfazl Abedini was waiting in the line, for his turn to use the bathroom in the section 6 prison courtyard, Ghalandari has attacked him. He chained Abolfazl’s both hands and legs to a pole in the courtyard and beat him with a pipe for hours.
Abedini was beaten so severely that his hands and legs are bruised and turned black and blue.,while no official give any reason of this brutal attack.
It is noteworthy to add that Abolfazl Abedini is sentenced to 11 years in prison and suffers from cardiac disease (advance MVP).
Abedini has been harrased and pressure in different ways since his transfer to Karoon prison through family visit prohibition,phone ban, and travel ban.
